The new start and finish site of the Staircase Challenge will be at the Parc de l’Esplanade in the heart of Old Quebec for the 2024 edition.
Bib and t-shirt pickup
To pick up your bib or someone else’s bib, you must show the bib number in paper or electronic format. Click here to get the bib number.
Participation T-shirt
When registering, adding the t-shirt is optional. You will have the option of deducting an amount from your invoice or of making a donation to the Scol’ERE scholarship as compensation, if you choose not to take it.
Participation MedalWhen registering, you will be able to forgo the medal and donate the value of the medal to the Scol’Ere scholarship in order to offset part of the GHG generated by the event.

During the race, the roads along the course are not closed to vehicle traffic. Police officers will be stationed at major intersections.
Bag check
Participants can choose to leave their personal belongings under a tent, at the start/finish site. Bags must be identified with the detachable strip at the bottom of the bib. Bags can be picked up at the finish area until 12:00 p.m. There is a maximum size limit of 18’’ x 10’’ x 8’’ per bag.
In order to minimize the amount of waste generated during the event and to continue our environmentally friendly initiatives, we will now be removing plastic cups at the refreshment points. Please bring your reusable collapsible cup or purchase one at the bib distribution. You can also choose to use a hydration belt or vest.

Money prizes must be claimed 30 days after the event.
The organization gives itself the right, within three days of the race, to withdraw a runner’s purse if the results have been falsified.
Recognition for 65 and Over
Our recognition podium for 65 and over aims to applaud the remarkable performances of runners who will place in the top 3 of the following age categories: 65-69 years, 70-74 years, 75-79 years, as well as 80 years and older. They will receive a digital photo in a personalized Je Cours Qc frame to immortalize this great achievement.
Snacks will be provided for all participants in the race finish area.
Kilometre markers will be placed every three kilometres in ascending distance order.
Runners and walkers who fail to reach the following checkpoint points before the time limit will be disqualified from the race.
The participants have 3 hours 45 minutes to complete the 19 km race.
There’s a total of 2 200 places available for all races of this event.
